Wedding Photography Training

Hi all,

Appreciate any feedback on the images attached.

They’re all taken on a course put together by GF Smith (many thanks to you guys) and the purpose of the course was to get together a few ideas that you could use for a wedding that just doesn’t have everything.  Here you’ll see no church  (just the DSS building in the centre of Leeds)and no beautiful gardens (just a bit of scrubland at the side of a dual carraigeway next to West Yorkshire Playhouse)!

My regular blog readers will know we specialise in studio photography training, but its always great to get out there and learn something new (and meet other photographers) in another subject!  A good morning’s work followed by an afternoon’s training on outdoor portrait photography.  Post to follow as soon as. . .  !

Thanks again for your feedback.  If its good we’ll incorporate into future wedding photography albums.

Day into Night!

Beautiful sunny afternoon in the garden, so what else to do for the professional photographer than to pretend its the middle of the night! Out with the studio lights turn ‘em up as far as they’ll go, stop down the camera, throw in a trampoline and voila – its raining children!

Yes, I know most people would have just cracked open a beer instead – but there’s plenty of time for that yet!!

Growing our manchester portrait photography business. Again!

Wow!  What a day we had yesterday.  The best thing about being a photographer is of course meeting people and taking their pictures, (we love it!)  but sadly however good you are (and we are good!) these customers don’t just walk through the door.   So, as a Manchester portrait photographer keen to grow the business we needed to find new ways to reach potential clients.

Eh Up

Eh Up!

As many of you know we have plans to move from our humble first photography studio into new high street premisses in around six weeks so to make this viable we really need to double our turnover yet again.   (If we manage it, that’ll be the fourth year running).

With that in mind we set off to Bury’s most glamorous hotel to attend a training course on using the internet to drive more business through my website.  The process of doing this is called SEO, (or Search Engine Optimisation) and is a curious mixture of art and science!  The forum was run by the MPA (Master Photographer Association) and the main speaker for the day was yorkshire wedding photographer Mark Pearson

Not long now!

So after a full days training (finished at almost 9pm) on the above and social networking, Nicola and I came away full of enthusiasm for how to grow the portrait photography business whilst at the same time being a little exhausted.

Changing content on the website is critical to be recognised by the search engines, so I promissed myself I’d get around to writing my first blog post for the new website.

A big thank you to both the MPA and Mark Pearson . . . inspired by your training I’m sure we’ll be growing even faster than we thought!

Andrew
